Collingwood and Hawthorn will compete in the inaugural Emergency Services Match on Friday 5 July, 7.50pm at the MCG.
The two clubs will face off at the MCG in Round 16 in recognition and celebration of the work of Emergency Services workers from across the state.
Partnering with Emergency Management Victoria, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Country Fire Authority, Life Saving Victoria, Forest Fire Management, Victorian State Emergency Service and ESTA (Triple 000), the Emergency Services Match will use the power of football to shine a light on the men and women who do extraordinary things, risking their lives every day to protect and support our communities.
The game provides an opportunity to raise much needed funds for the Emergency Services Foundation, an organisation established in 1983 after the Ash Wednesday fires, which supports Emergency Services workers in times of need through a range of support services.
The Emergency Services Match will also help support and raise awareness of the mental health issues faced by the people doing this vital work in our communities.
Now available for auction are the authentic player issued Emergency Services Match Guernsey's, personally signed by the player for whom it was made.
If the player takes to the field in the Round 16 Emergency Services match, the guernsey on offer will be the authentic match worn guernsey.
The guernseys of the emergency players who are not selected will also be offered for auction as non-match worn player issued guernseys.
All guernseys will be personally signed and come with an official AFLPA Certificate of Authenticity to protect your investment.
Profits from the sale of the Emergency Services Round guernseys will be donated to the Emergency Services Foundation.
Auction items will begin to be dispatched or be available for pick up from the Holden Centre approximately 10-14 days after the completion of the auction.
This is due to the player signing session, packing and AFLPA authentication process. Please allow a further 3-4 days for Australia Post service.
Please note: The Emergency Services logo will be a heat sealed logo onto the guernsey.
